Sponsored workshop: superconductor modelling
Our engineers Rien Wesselink and Marijn Kalter will host a workshop on superconductor modelling at the conference, on Wednesday, October 29th at 13:00h. The business of Demcon Multiphysics is to provide modeling consultancy services in cases where specialization and experience is valuable. An example of such case is modeling superconductivity, since it often requires specialized techniques that oftentimes the multiphysics engineer has to invent himself, relying on custom equation based functionality within COMSOL Multiphysics. In this field, Demcon Multiphysics has built up experience over the past years through multiple projects.
If you are interested in what we do, you can find us at our stand or join our workshop during the conference. In this workshop we would like to share and highlight some of this work by:
Introducing the physics of superconductors, explaining concepts like flux flow and flux creep.
Giving an impression of the complexity of the field using some simplified examples, demonstrating how they can be modelled in COMSOL Multiphysics.
Highlighting some appealing applications and their physics (e.g. quench modeling).
Our aim is that attendees enjoy learning something about superconductor physics, and get a (high level) overview of the field of superconductor modeling, demonstrating its complexity. We hope to meet you at the COMSOL conference 2025!
