Our colleagues Paul-Christiaan Spruijtenburg, Rien Wesselink, and Marijn Kalter are co-authors in a new publication in Superconductor Science and Technology by IOPscience.
In collaboration with Jiabin Yang and Alexander Petrov from UKAEA, and Stuart C Wimbush from UK Industrial Fusion Solutions Ltd, they contributed to the article “AC losses in the STEP TF magnet during plasma initiation.” This work presents important insights for future fusion magnet design, including the identification of local temperature rises of up to 7 K during plasma initiation.
The article highlights the strength of combining simulation, theoretical analysis, and deep domain expertise—core elements of our approach at Demcon multiphysics.
